  • Period pain and irregularity are normal
  • All girls go through the same transition
  • There is nothing to do besides support her emotionally

What Ayurveda sees

  • Preparation begins through specific nourishment of the body and honoring cosmic cycles
  • The first bleed is one of the sacred threshold rites (ritusiddhi): a samskara that leaves a permanent imprint on the subtle body
  • They are a doshic imbalances that are readable, addressable, and preventable
  • Every girl carries a unique doshic constitution that determines her menstrual health for decades
  • The ceremony, the witnessing, and the transmission are what the body is biologically waiting to receive

This masterclass does not give you a better version of what already exists. It gives you a completely different map.

Ayurvedic Approach to The First Period

The first period is not a biological event to manage. Ayurveda has always recognized it as a crossing from childhood (kumari, the premenstrual maiden stage) to young womanhood (rajaswala, the menstruating young woman):

from pure potential into creative power,
from childhood into embodied womanhood,
from being primarily shaped by others into becoming a vessel of one's own cyclical wisdom.

What awakens in this crossing is the inner feminine principle: the capacity to create, nurture, magnetize, and transform.

Voices from the AyurPrana Women's Health Community

Janaki

Exploring the often-untalked about energetic aspects of menopause was made clear and accessible in a space held with so much compassion, integrity, and knowledge. Vrinda and Sandy held a beautiful space where everyone experienced a healing and much-needed connection with others and this wisdom. So valuable and precious were both the tangibles and intangibles shared, both the action steps and reflection prompts. I am grateful to have been a part of this community offering.

Karen Dizne

I am a nutritionist. I have many women want support for menopause. I need to understand it for myself as well. I like that the presenters are interacting with the attendees and answering so many questions. The message that community is vital to this change is inspiring. I think I will start a women's group so we can support and guide each other. I have felt engaged in this webinar. Some are just people talking and don't really draw me in. I feel like I am heard.

Shaileen

Unsure whether I am even entering the journey of perimenopause, I found myself full of questions and fears and nowhere to turn with them. Vrinda and Sandy put together a beautiful workshop where women like me could safely share and ask and receive in a wonderful, supportive container. I emerged feeling validated, more secure, and armed with easy, accessible tips that I can use to navigate this next phase of my life. I highly recommend attending this workshop and hope it is offered in the future.
