Coming Home to Balance, in Body and Mind

Have you ever noticed how a restless night leaves your mind scattered, or how a stressful week shows up in your digestion? Ayurveda has long understood that body and mind are one living whole. The three doshas - vata, pitta and kapha guide not only our physical functions but also our thoughts, feelings and emotional responses.
In this two-hour live webinar, Dr. Vasant Lad gently guides you through the foundations: the qualities (gunas) of each dosha and the places in the body where each one makes its home. With his characteristic warmth and clarity, he then explores the inner life of each dosha - the creativity of vata, the clarity of pitta, the steadiness of kapha, and how stress, diet, season and emotion can draw them out of balance.
You will come away with a kinder understanding of yourself, along with simple, time-tested practices to help your mind return to its natural state of peace.

What we will Explore Together

The Three Doshas and Their Qualities: Begin with the five elements and see how they come together as vata (space and air), pitta (fire and water) and kapha (water and earth). Dr. Lad explains the gunas, or qualities, of each: vata’s dry, light, cold and mobile nature, pitta’s hot, sharp and penetrating fire, and kapha’s heavy, slow, stable and soft substance. This helps you begin to recognize them in your own body and life.

Where Each Dosha Makes Its Home: Learn the main seats of the doshas: vata in the colon, pelvis, bones, ears and skin; pitta in the small intestine, stomach, blood, sweat glands and eyes; kapha in the chest, lungs, throat, sinuses and joints. Knowing these sites helps you notice the body’s earliest, gentlest signals that something is asking for care.

The Mind of Each Dosha: Explore how each dosha lives in the mind. In balance, vata offers creativity, flexibility and joy; pitta offers understanding, intelligence and courage; and kapha offers love, compassion, patience and forgiveness. These are gifts already within you, waiting to be nurtured.

Understanding Triggers with Compassion: Discover what tends to disturb each dosha: irregular routines, overstimulation and cold, dry conditions for vata; heat, pressure and held-in anger for pitta; inactivity, heavy food and emotional holding for kapha. You will see how fear and anxiety, anger and judgment, or attachment and possessiveness can arise, not as personal failings but as natural signals of imbalance.

Every Dosha Has a Mind of Its Own

Ayurveda teaches that the very qualities that shape the body also shape the mind. When a dosha is in balance, its qualities become our natural strengths. When it is disturbed, those same qualities can become the challenges we struggle with. Understanding this is a first step toward greater self-compassion.

Vata: the energy of movement. Light, subtle and mobile, vata blesses the mind with quickness, creativity and enthusiasm. When it moves out of balance, that same lightness can become restlessness, worry, fear, anxiety and difficulty sleeping. Warmth, grounding and a steady routine help vata settle.

Pitta: the energy of transformation. Hot, sharp and penetrating, pitta brings clarity, focus, courage and the power to understand. When aggravated, that inner fire can turn toward anger, criticism, jealousy and perfectionism. Coolness, softness and moderation help pitta find ease.

Kapha: the energy of structure. Heavy, stable and soft, kapha offers calm, loyalty, love and deep endurance. When out of balance, that stability can become attachment, possessiveness, greed, lethargy and depression. Movement, lightness and gentle stimulation help kapha rise.

In this webinar, Dr. Lad helps you recognize these patterns as they arise and meet them with awareness, gentleness and the right remedies.

Testimonials

Silke Zimmermann

I’m very glad I found Ayurprana on the Internet and having the possibility to study online with a wonderful team of great practitioners. This wonderful team at Ayurprana is doing an amazing job in teaching Ayurveda with their hearts.

I am glued to Dr. Lad's lips when he’s sharing all his wisdom and knowledge about Ayurveda. I had doubts about doing a massage seminar online and whether I would learn anything, but the classes are designed in a way that you can ask a lot of questions.

The replays can be watched over and over again, and you ask a friend at home to act as your massage client.

Certainly a life classe is always the better choice, but Dr. Lad gives so much insight into his knowledge and answers any question even beyond the Marma points.

I put the knowledge directly into practice and quickly received positive feedback from my clients.

What first piqued my interest in Ayurveda was an introduction I received in David Winston's 2-year Clinical Herbalist class. I then went on to read Dr. Lad's book "Ayurveda the Science of Self-Healing" and what really drew me in were your YouTube videos of "The Journey Within." Listening to Dr. Lad chant fills me with wonder, brings me to tears and makes my soul feel like it's being called home. The amount of meaningful content is staggering and I am so blessed to have found you all! I have been dipping my toe with Ayurveda for just over a year now and I have met and exceeded my goal weight with the help of your cleanses and yummy healthy recipes! I want you all to know that you have made a huge impact on my life and my heart is with you! Thank you, a million times, for making Ayurveda more accessible and understandable.❤️

This was amazing course. I have been practicing spiritual practices of Sadhguru and may I got to know about Dr Lad when there was a talk between the two. I have been following Ayurprana+ & Dr. Lad since then. I am always impressed when I get to know more about this ancient knowledge. I think there is no difference between Yoga and Ayurveda. I would like to continue this journey and keep learning about Ayurveda. Hope I can be part of your team in some ways.
