Every emotion carries a message, and every message can be healed

Fear, grief and anger are part of being human. They visit all of us, sometimes as passing clouds and sometimes as long seasons of the heart. Ayurveda does not ask us to push these feelings away. Instead, it offers a way to understand where they come from, how they move through the body and mind, and how they can be gently transformed.

In the Ayurvedic view, each of these great emotions has a natural relationship with the doshas. Fear and anxiety are closely tied to vata, with its cold, light and moving qualities. Anger, irritation and judgment arise from the hot, sharp nature of pitta. Grief, sadness and attachment often carry the heavy, holding quality of kapha. When a dosha is disturbed, these emotions grow stronger. And when emotions are left unresolved, they can in turn disturb the doshas, creating a cycle that affects both our health and our peace.

In this two hour webinar, Dr. Vasant Lad compassionately guides you through the Ayurvedic understanding of these three great disturbances. You will explore how they take root through samprapti and how they touch the antah karana, the inner workings of the mind. You will also leave with simple, nurturing remedies to support yourself and those you love.

What we will Explore Together

The doshas behind our deepest emotions: Discover the Ayurvedic understanding of how vata gives rise to fear and anxiety, how pitta kindles anger and judgment, and how kapha holds grief and attachment. Learn to recognize these patterns in yourself with kindness rather than criticism.

Samprapti, the journey of a disturbance: Follow how an imbalance in vata, pitta or kapha unfolds through the stages of samprapti, from quiet accumulation to aggravation, spread and finally manifestation. See how an emotion that begins as a small ripple can, over time, settle deeply into body and mind.

The antah karana, our inner instrument: Explore the four aspects of the inner mind: manas (the sensory, thinking mind), buddhi (intellect and discernment), chitta (memory and consciousness) and ahamkara (the sense of self). Understand how fear, grief and anger move through each of them.

How emotions live in the body: Learn why unresolved emotions are seen in Ayurveda as a kind of undigested experience, and how, when they are not fully processed, they can lodge in the tissues and quietly shape our health.

Awareness as medicine: meeting our emotions with compassion

Ayurveda teaches that the mind digests experience much as the body digests food. Three subtle forms of the doshas work closely together in this process. Prana vayu governs the movement of the senses and thoughts. Sadhaka pitta, the fire of the heart and mind, helps us process and understand what we feel. Tarpaka kapha nourishes and steadies the nervous system and holds our memories. When these are in harmony, we can feel an emotion fully, learn from it, and let it pass. When they are disturbed, feelings remain undigested and begin to shape how we think, sleep and live.

One of the most beautiful teachings Dr. Lad offers is that emotions are not enemies to be suppressed. Fear, grief and anger are energy, and when we look at them with clear, loving awareness, without judging or running away, they begin to soften and transform. A frightened mind can find its ground. A burning mind can find its coolness. A heavy heart can find its lightness again.

Alongside this inner practice, Ayurveda offers gentle outer support: warm oil and steady routine to calm vata, cooling foods and soothing breath to settle pitta, and movement, warmth and connection to lift kapha. Together, awareness and simple daily care become a path back to balance.

Testimonials

Silke Zimmermann

I’m very glad I found Ayurprana on the Internet and having the possibility to study online with a wonderful team of great practitioners. This wonderful team at Ayurprana is doing an amazing job in teaching Ayurveda with their hearts.

I am glued to Dr. Lad's lips when he’s sharing all his wisdom and knowledge about Ayurveda. I had doubts about doing a massage seminar online and whether I would learn anything, but the classes are designed in a way that you can ask a lot of questions.

The replays can be watched over and over again, and you ask a friend at home to act as your massage client.

Certainly a life classe is always the better choice, but Dr. Lad gives so much insight into his knowledge and answers any question even beyond the Marma points.

I put the knowledge directly into practice and quickly received positive feedback from my clients.

What first piqued my interest in Ayurveda was an introduction I received in David Winston's 2-year Clinical Herbalist class. I then went on to read Dr. Lad's book "Ayurveda the Science of Self-Healing" and what really drew me in were your YouTube videos of "The Journey Within." Listening to Dr. Lad chant fills me with wonder, brings me to tears and makes my soul feel like it's being called home. The amount of meaningful content is staggering and I am so blessed to have found you all! I have been dipping my toe with Ayurveda for just over a year now and I have met and exceeded my goal weight with the help of your cleanses and yummy healthy recipes! I want you all to know that you have made a huge impact on my life and my heart is with you! Thank you, a million times, for making Ayurveda more accessible and understandable.❤️

This was amazing course. I have been practicing spiritual practices of Sadhguru and may I got to know about Dr Lad when there was a talk between the two. I have been following Ayurprana+ & Dr. Lad since then. I am always impressed when I get to know more about this ancient knowledge. I think there is no difference between Yoga and Ayurveda. I would like to continue this journey and keep learning about Ayurveda. Hope I can be part of your team in some ways.
