SCROLL TO RIGHT AND LEFT TO MEET THE TEAM

OUR TEAM IS:

COMPASSIONATE
Before being called to heal others, we had to heal ourselves. That's part of what makes our team of practitioners so different. Our team is made up of highly spiritual people, so you can relax knowing that you're working towards healing for the whole being.

EXPERIENCED

Trained in both Ayurvedic and ancillary methods, our team pulls from a wide spectrum of healing because we know that vibrant health isn't a one-size-fits-all situation. You are a wonderfully complex being, with individual needs, dreams, and feelings. You deserve to work with a practitioner who sees you for all of you.

INNOVATIVE
Our team isn't limited by the boundaries of western or eastern traditions. We have translated the ancient art of Ayurveda into a simple and easy to use freamwork we call the 7 pillars of wellness.

KUSUM BHANDARI, CAP, CHC

Kusum’s journey through healing modalities has been extraordinarily comprehensive, and driven by a unwavering dedication to supporting others on their healing paths. As an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and an Ayurvedic Practitioner, Kusum also supports the education and evolution of Ayurveda as a faculty member and clinic supervisor at the Ayurvedic Institute.

Prior to her training in the healing practices of Ayurveda, Kusum received her Master’s in Clinical Psychology, and a Postmaster’s in Couple and Family Therapy from Drexel University.

Her passion for empowering others carries through in everything she does, but truly shines brightest in her speciality areas of diet, nutrition, and cooking.

AXELLE LATORTUE, CAP

Originally from Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Axelle followed her passion for Ayurveda to New Mexico, where she graduated as an Ayurvedic Practitioner from The Ayurvedic Institute. Before this journey, Axelle had a remarkable 10-year run working with overseas governments to help them achieve their education system goals, which her Masters in Foreign Service helped her accomplish.

She had spent several years committed to her practice of Ashtanga yoga before turning toward Ayurveda. When she did, she was inspired and delighted by the close connections between both healing modalities.

The driving force behind her work is the lifelong desire to be of service to her community — Axelle truly thrives in her connection-oriented spaces, whether she’s working one-one-one to help a client, or supporting the next generation of healers by supervising the student clinic.

SERAFINA LEFFELD, CAP

Serafina began her journey into the world of alternative healing at a young age, absorbing practices of herbal and flower medicine, homeopathy, naturopathy as well as yoga from her mother. As her affinity for the healing arts developed, she pursued her passions into the metaphysical and transcendental realms. Through further exploration, Serafina discovered the teachings of Vasant Lad, eventually studying and graduating from his Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico as an Ayurvedic Practitioner.

Employing all natural and non-invasive practices such as yoga, pranayama, meditation, nutrition, mantra, ritual and plant medicine, she guides clients towards reconnecting with their body’s intrinsic intuition and innate wisdom. However, Serafina’s true passions lie in women's health, which she embraces as her dharma and purpose. She is dedicated to guiding and supporting women to accept and embrace their bodies by reconnecting with divine feminine and masculine energies coexisting within.

GIUDITTA PACI-FORTUNE, CAP, AYS RYT-500, B.Msc

Giuditta brings a wide cultural perspective, having grown up in Italy and Costa Rica before moving to London to study ecology, marine biology. Having lived in many countries, Giuditta is fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian. Working as a chef at a natural food marketplace, she developed her interests in vegan, vegetarian, and organic whole foods. In Taos, NM she studied shamanism, worked towards her Bachelors of Metaphysical Studies, and deepened her yoga practice by becoming a certified yoga instructor. Her yoga experience includes hatha, vinyasa, restorative, pranayama and meditation.

After studying under Vasant Lad and graduating from the Ayurvedic Institute as a Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner, Giuditta’s passion is to educate and guide clients on their healing journey. Her goal is to work systematically with one or more of the tools of Ayurveda to restore balance for her clients’ body, mind and spirit.

ALEX RICE, CAP

Alex is a graduate of The Ayurvedic Institute's Ayurvedic Studies Program, Levels 1 and 2, and a 500-Hour AyurYoga Teacher. She first learned yoga and meditation from her grandmother, and it was actually one of her best friends who introduced her to Ayurveda.

She has worked seasonally around the world and the United States for many years. Her wild and wonderful adventures varied from farms to daycares to restaurants to an outdoor science school, after which Alex found her way to Vasant Lad and The Ayurvedic Institute.

Alex loves connecting with clients, listening to their stories, and ultimately finding the root cause of their concerns. In addition to being a practitioner, she currently supports many of Vasant Lad’s clients, moderates seasonal cleanses, video-edits upcoming immersions, and assists the care team

NISHITA SHAH, CAP, E-RYT 500, C-IAYT

Before being called to Ayurveda, Nishita received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at the University of Alabama, and what fascinates her most is how her studies in human psychology overlap with the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda. She feels blessed to have the opportunity to continue her healing education in the latter subject at the Ayurvedic Institute.

Under the tutelage of Vasant Lad, Nishita became both an Ayurvedic Practitioner and an enthusiastic Ayuryoga Instructor. Throughout her career, including during the time she spent in her own private practice prior to joining our team, Nishita’s work has been fueled by a devotion to healing through nutrition and yoga.

She also has a deep appreciation for Sanskrit as the mother tongue of all languages, and is both thrilled and honored to bring this love into the classroom.

DAVE YOSS, AP, E-RYT 500

Dave is best known for his love and appreciation for plants of all kinds. After graduating from the Ayurvedic Institute and the Gurukula program in Pune, India, Dave began teaching and has been at it for over 5 years. He’s taught an extensive range of topics, including herbology, herbal preparations, yoga, lifestyle practices, clinical practices, and more.

He also teaches yoga and meditation at Sani Yoga in the heart of Albuquerque, and co-leads their Yoga Teacher Training Program. As a master teacher at the Tantric Alchemy Institute in Costa Rica, Dave also co-led their 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training.

If it’s not already clear, Dave loves to teach! Through his teaching, Dave is able to share and transmit knowledge that leaves students empowered — all made possible by the humorous anecdotes and authentic, fun learning environment for which his classes and consultations are loved.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I book with a Team Lead (Vrinda, Sneha or Mitesh)?

Our Team Leads spend time ensuring the quality of our consultations by meeting with practitioners and guiding consultations based on the queries and their expertise! Our team truly works collaboratively in this manner. Our leads are not currently available for individual Ayurvedic consultations due to this responsibility.

Do you offer in-person consultations?

Currently, all consultations are only virtual through AyurPrana. We make the consultation experience as personal and comfortable as possible. Although AyurPrana does not have any physical locations outside the United States, we will be transitioning to a new location in Asheville, North Carolina, in the summer of 2022! That being said, the Ayurvedic Institute has opened their student clinic, and offers in person consultations to the public! Feel free to contact them at (505) 291-9698 Ext. 131 or email clinic@ayurveda.com.

How can you do a consultation without being able to read the pulse?

Although the pulse is a beautiful method of clinical observation it is only one form of examination in the Ayurvedic tradition. There are many factors that are considered in an Ayuvedic consultation in addition to the pulse which our practitioners utilize, such as questioning, understanding genetic predisposition, mental emotional state, and especially observation of physiological characteristics (this is why uploading photos of the face, tongue, and meals is so useful for your practitioner) and much more!

Do you support international clients?

We do our best to support all clients local and abroad. However, our resources are currently limited. English is our native language and the shipping of herbs to countries abroad has been inconsistent during the pandemic and other world affairs. Unfortunately, we cannot control all the different laws and customs arrangements for each country; so, shipping is often delayed for international herbal orders.

I want the best practitioner! Who is the most experienced practitioner?

We know everyone wants the best practitioner. Our structure supports our practitioners just as much as it supports you! Our practitioners work collaboratively so you get the braintrust of the entire team. We recommend clients to use their intuition in choosing a practitioner that they resonate with.

Do you take insurance?

As Ayurveda is not a licensed practice of medicine (we do hope this changes one day!), most insurance companies do not cover our services.

Do you have doctors on staff?

Some of our practitioners are licensed medical providers. While they draw upon that education and experience, they function as educators and do not practice under their license. All of our staff are certified Ayurvedic practitioners.

How long will it take for me to see results?

Results vary as each client is unique. We often suggest a client to consistently implement their routine and work closely with their practitioner for education tweaks. Some level of success is often apparent quickly, but deeper work often takes longer. AyurPrana offers a variety of packages and discounts to make the journey more accessible, click here to view our packages. As always, we expect our clients to work with their provider for implementation of the education as Ayurveda is not a licensed practice of medicine.

Are my herbs included in the cost of my consultation?

Herbal formulas and products are not included in the cost of an Ayurwellness consultation, as each of these formulations can vary in ingredients and price.

Can I use AyurPrana discount codes to book Ayurwellness packages?

Discount codes do not apply to AyurWellness Packages. These are already offered at a discounted rate.

Can I have a consultation for my underage child?

While AyurPrana cannot directly provide a consultation with minors due to legal liability, we can offer a consultation to an adult or guardian and provide excellent education as it relates to any questions that you make have on behalf of this underage child.

What is your cancellation policy?

To ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of our office operations, we have certain policies concerning the cancellation and rescheduling of appointments. If you would like to cancel an appointment, you must notify us at least two business days (48 hours) or 7 days (if the consutlation is with Vasant Lad, BAM&S, MSc) in advance of the start of your scheduled appointment time. If you fail to provide this notice, you will forfeit your session an dyour payment. You can contact us by email at care@liveayurprana.com to process your cancellation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an AyurPrana immersion?

Our immersions deliver a virtual experience aimed at fostering transformation. We offer a combination of pre-recorded and live content from our esteemed and captivating speakers, practitioners, and teachers straight to you! We want as many people as possible to have access to this life-changing content. We make the content easily available for you, whether you are in the comfort of your home, at your favorite coffee shop, or on the beach.

Can I ask the instructor questions during the immersion?

Yes! The live component of any class is interactive. We have a state-of-the-art setup for the speaker to have a life-size view of the audience, so it is as if you are sitting together. There will be designated opportunities to ask questions you have related to the content. We also have a dedicated Facebook group where you can ask additional questions and get to know your immersion friends!

What if I have no background in medicine or Ayurveda? Do I need any background to understand the content in the immersion?

Our immersions are intentionally accessible for anyone - even those relatively new to Ayurveda. These particular marma immersions will be best enjoyed by someone with at least an introductory background in the science of Ayurveda. The speaker may become more technical, but we always bring it back to the basics. This immersion doesn’t require a deep knowledge of anatomy and physiology - Dr. Susan Salvo will cover much of that in a lesson during this immersion.

How will I view the sessions?

For live sessions, we will utilize the Zoom platform. You will receive clear instructions on how to join. All you need is good internet access; a laptop, tablet, or phone with video and audio capabilities; and a fresh and open mind!

Recorded classes or the live replays will be accessed through the AyurLearn Portal. Instructions to access your AyurLearn Portal will be emailed to you shortly after purchase.

What if I can’t join the during the live broadcast? Can I watch the sessions later?

Absolutely. You will have full access to the recorded sessions for at least 6 months after the live broadcast.

What is your refund and cancellation policy?

Immersions may be canceled up to 72 hours prior to the start date of the session. Please contact info@liveayurprana.com to submit a request for cancellation.

What if I am having technical problems during the live webinar?

You can reach us immediately by utilizing the chat feature in Zoom or emailing info@liveayurprana.com . We will be continuously checking these so that we can respond to you promptly.
