We created this foundational course because when it comes to the 5000-year-old health and wellness system of Ayurveda it can be hard to know where to start!
This immersive online course will introduce you to the core ideas and practices enshrined in Ayurveda - in very practical terms, so that you can start experiencing the benefits of balancing your being and start living into your optimal self!
In our 4 weeks together, you will learn more about your particular and unique constitution, the Dosha system as a whole, and the various ways to read signs of imbalance in yourself. We will ask you to take a Dosha Quiz before the immersion so that everything you learn over the course can be applied to you.
You will be introduced to the 7 Pillars of Wellness - a formula rooted in Ayurvedic concepts to help create a daily lifestyle routine (dinacharya) that ultimately supports and maintains wellness in any body. This is how the proactive and ancient healing science of Ayurveda works - by coming to know yourself and learning what best serves you, moment to moment.
Your teachers, Mitesh and Sneha Raichada, will guide you in how to apply this ancient art of self-healing through a modern lens, as you implement these timeless practices to reduce stress, improve digestion, become inspired, live consciously, and experience renewed energy and vitality.
Topics we will cover in this immersion
Join Sneha Raichada, MPT, CAP, E-RYT-200, AyurPrana Founder and Dean of Education at The Ayurvedic Institute, and Mitesh Raichada, CAP, AyurPrana Founder and Senior Faculty at The Ayurvedic Institute, as they guide you through an experiential process of how to live Ayurveda.
Both Mitesh and Sneha are long-time students of internationally-renowned Ayurvedic physician and visionary Vasant Lad, BAM&S, MASc, and have spent many years supporting students and clients along their personal healing journey.
Week 1: Introducing Ayurveda and the 7 pillars
This week you’ll learn about the three doshas and how they are uniquely manifesting in you - both in your original constitution (prakruti) and current state of imbalance (vikruti). We will also introduce the 7 pillars of nutrition, cleanse, movement, sleep, connection, inspiration, and peace and how we can apply Ayurveda in each of these categories in relation to your unique prakruti and vikruti. This week will ensure you gain a strong understanding of what Ayurveda is and how it might impact your daily life for the better!
Week 2: Nutrition and Digestion
We all know the saying, we are what we eat. In Ayurveda we hold very closely to this concept - but it’s not just what we eat but how well we digest it. This week you will learn the foundational Ayurvedic principles around optimal digestion and nutrition, including the importance of true hunger, timing and portions of meals and macros, and how this may shift or require tweaking season to season, and dosha to dosha.
Week 3: Movement and Breath
Many of us have come across yoga and even breathwork, particularly during the global shutdown caused by COVD-19. These practices, however, have been a fundamental part of an Ayurvedic holistic wellness routine for thousands of years. Discover for yourself how the breath and flow of prana dynamically relates to every facet of our lives and how it can transform us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Week 4: Sleep, Connection, Inspiration & Peace
In this final week we approach the more subtle practices, which benefit immensely from the groundwork laid by the previous three weeks. As you can imagine, it’s harder to feel connected or find peace when one is feeling tired or bloated.
This week we dive into the practices that allow us to access more refined states of wellbeing, including increased moment to moment awareness. This enhanced mindfulness permeates our thoughts, feelings, emotions and words and how we relate to not only the world around us - strangers, coworkers, loved ones, our environment - but also our higher selves.

Ayur - Life - Veda - Knowledge
The Sanskrit word Ayurveda translates to āyuh, life, and veda, knowledge or science. It is an ancient healing system rooted in India that has been practiced for thousands of years.
Ayurveda’s scope encompasses all realms: physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual, and thus addresses the whole person, body, mind and consciousness.
Our optimal self flows from balance
Take a moment - what could balance mean for you?
- Better rest
- Healthy digestion
- Feeling inspired
- Feeling comfortable in my body and enjoying my physicality
- More consistent energy
- Stronger connection to community and loved ones
- Feeling more calm and in touch with self and purpose
The goal of Ayurveda is to offer all of this to you - providing the means to truly return home to yourself.
Sounds great, but will it work for ME?
We know that one size does not fit all! In our modern age we are very prone to a narrative of - “If it worked for me, it’ll work for you.” And if it doesn’t, most of us believe the problem lies with us.
One of the most elegant aspects of the ancient healing and wellness system of Ayurveda is the incredible devotion to the individual.
While aspects of the Ayurvedic lifestyle are generally suitable for everyone, Ayurveda acknowledges that each of us is unique. Coming to know your unique constitution and then applying the practices of Ayurveda through that lens is what gives this ancient wellness system its transformative power.
Ayurveda is yours. This is your life knowledge - so that you can discover how best to nourish your mind, your body, and your spirit!
