Hurricane Helene Update

Our beloved Asheville community and the Appalachian region have been deeply impacted by Hurricane Helene. Our community is still processing, but also rebuilding, connecting, and supporting one another with such a powerful heart. It’s been so beautiful to witness and be a part of.

While these efforts to restore our village are ongoing, we are still very actively supporting our community. Thank you to the volunteers and supporters of these efforts.

Yoga for the Community

Asheville Yoga Center will continue to serve the community with heart-centered movement with $10 community classes this week on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 1:30-2:45 pm. No one will be turned away due to lack of funds, all are welcome to practice yoga in community.

Cooking to Heal

Our generous, talented, and nothing short of amazing chef from SoHum Mountain Healing, Sean Sigmon, with the support of head therapist, Julia Apodaca, have headed up serving 200 people on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at The Ayurvedic Institute and Asheville Yoga Center campus. In a collaboration with the renowned Plant Restaurant (who serves on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at their location), they are serving warm vegan meals to the community during a time when warm, nourishing, vegan meals are hard to come by. If you’re in the area, come by! Any donations go to Manna Food Bank.

The Ayurvedic Institute is still accepting donations by mail or in person at this location (62 Orange Street, Asheville, NC) that we send to local organizations for distribution.

Connecting Asheville's Healing Artists with Those in Need

In a collaboration with LEAF, we are supporting areas in need of not just food, shelter, and basic needs, but also healing touch and bodywork. We were overwhelmed to see how many healers are ready and willing to go into the community and offer their services pro bono. We are in the process of setting up organized systems to connect them with people with spaces (including our very own AyurPrana Listening Room!) they’d like to offer for this work, shelters, and organizations that can use this service at their location of service. If you are one of these healers who wants to be connected, email vrinda@liveayurprana.com.
