Robin is a graduate of the Ayurvedic Institute’s Ayurvedic Studies Program levels 1 and 2 and holds a YTT 200 hr certificate. He is currently working as an Ayurvedic practitioner and is part of the faculty of the Ayurvedic Institute.
Robin was born in the Netherlands and while studying business administration at the Breda University of Applied Sciences, simultaneously started having a career in dance that would last close to a decade. Dance led him to a continuous yoga practice from age 18, kindling a profound interest in healing and transformative techniques from all over the globe. His teachers, experiences and travels, guided him to later on teach dance in a therapeutic setting in Amsterdam.
After enjoying an Ayurvedic nutrition course in 2016 taught by Dr. Coen van der Kroon at the Academy of Ayurvedic Studies in Amsterdam, an inner understanding of his life’s mission started to unfold, devoting his efforts to the study of the ancient sciences of life.
In years prior to studying Ayurveda with Dr. Vasant Lad, Robin, being passionate about using food as medicine, worked as a vegetarian chef and traveled extensively, spending half of the year in India. There he studied Vedic philosophies with an emphasis on Yoga and Vedanta, under the close tutelage of Dr. Vijaya Manja, Ph D. in a traditional gurukula setting. Robin also trained in a discipline of psycho-somatic bodywork called the Rosen Method and is studying Sanskrit with Dr. Anil Biltoo, professor at King’s College London.
Robin has a deep reverence for anyone following the desire to improve their current condition and never forgets the smile from a person that comes to new understanding. He has a great love for conveying the timeless wisdom of Ayurvedic principles in simple everyday language and it is his biggest joy to continue learning from Dr. Lad and to share the work that is gifted to him. It is his inspiration and motivation to see people moving in a positive direction and obtaining their goals.
