Your Invitation to Heal
Personalized to your unique constitution, concerns, and goals, our 7-night Panchakarma package incorporates traditional Ayurvedic cleansing practices administered daily - including ghee therapy (snehapana), a simplified diet, oil massage (snehana), sweat therapy (swedana), and oil application to the forehead (shirodhara).
Your panchakarma experience has been designed by Vasant Lad, BAM&S, MASc, and curated by individuals who have been trained under his guidance. You will have set-up calls with our licensed Ayurvedic practitioners to understand your particular goals and health concerns. From this we will craft a personalized, relaxing, nurturing, and fulfilling experience for your stay at SoHum Mountain Healing Resort.
We offer shorter stay packages that incorporate personalized Ayurvedic Treatments through our spa. Although not a full Panchakarma program these packages do incorporate some of the same treatments, including oil massage (snehana), sweat therapy (swedana), and oil application to the forehead (shirodhara).
SoHum, is the phonetic pronunciation of the sacred mantra So’Ham - a vibration that echoes within every breath we take, inviting us to rediscover inner peace and return to our true Self.
So’Ham is an ancient Vedic mantra that has been revered for thousands of years for its transformative powers. The Sanskrit words translate to I am That and are a reminder of our innate connection to the universe and the pure essence within us that tethers us to all creation. This simple yet profound vibration ushers in peace, clarity and a deep sense of self-awareness when repeated with intention and devotion.
On the inhale, mimicking the sound of the breath, we silently chant: Sooooo
On the exhale, with the sound of releasing the breath, we silently chant: Hummmmm
“When sound, breath, and awareness come together, it becomes light… So Hum meditation leads to the union of the individual with the universal Cosmic Consciousness. You will go beyond thought, beyond time and space, beyond cause and effect. Limitations will vanish.”

Ayurveda is a 5,000 year-old lifestyle science, which promotes proactive and preemptive approaches to personal health and wellness.
Originating in the Indus Valley, what is now modern-day India, Ayurveda is a science of self-healing, and encompasses diet and nutrition, lifestyle, meditation, postures, breathing exercises and medical herbs along with cleansing and rejuvenation programs for healing the body, mind, and spirit.
According to Ayurveda, everything in the cosmos is reflected and mirrored in the microcosm of the human being. The universe is composed of five elements: ether, air, fire, water, and earth. These five elements combine in varying proportions to create the three doshas: Vata, the principle of movement, Pitta, the principle of transformation, and Kapha, the principle of cohesion or building block material. These elements and the doshas comprise the macrocosm also make up our individual constitutions.
The purpose of Ayurveda is to bring balance to these doshas and elements amidst the changing times of day, seasons, and phases of our lives. Optimal health isn’t found in a pill or an herbal compound – rooted in our day to day routines and choices – how we eat, breathe, move, sleep, interact, and connect with one another. Just as SoHum ties us to universal oneness, so Ayurveda reminds us that we are an intrinsic part of the cosmos, and our relationship to the natural world is what truly sustains and nourishes us.
