Balanced Being: Dosha-Focused Yoga Immersion

Regular price $249.00

This immersion will give you deep insight into what makes-up a balanced practice - working through sequences and poses while identifying the effects they have on the different mind-body types (doshas).

As we come to understand our own mind-body type or constitution and identify our imbalances, we will learn how our yoga practice can support us in establishing our balance again - helping to heal us and live the best version of ourselves!

Join us every Monday and Thursday from May 12 - June 6, 2022. These 8 sessions will be LIVE for 60 minutes with recordings of each session available for replay through our AyurLearn portal.

Topics we will cover together:

  • Live guided classes through each practice
  • Introduction to the mind-body types (doshas)
  • Finding equanimity between the 3 doshas
  • Themed discussions each week
  • Description of how the themes build on each other into a tridoshic practice
  • Sequences to practice each week

Whether you see yourself as a beginner in your yoga journey or spend hours on your mat every day, this immersion will allow you to deepen your own personal connection to your being!

Learn to Balance Your Being!

In Ayurveda, we believe that each living being is composed of the five elements - space, air, fire, water, and earth. These are the building blocks and energies powering all life on earth. While these elements unite all of us, they come together in the 3 mind-body or constitution types - the Doshas.

What is a Dosha?

The 3 Doshas are mind-body or constitution types, and in Ayurveda, are each characterized by their combination of elements:

  • Pitta Dosha is a combination of fire and water
  • Vata Dosha is made up of space and air
  • Kapha Dosha is composed of water and earth

These doshas, and their unique combination are within each of us and give rise to the various characteristics in our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual selves that make-up who we are.

The way we move through life - how we experience our thoughts and feelings, what we eat and when we eat at different times of the day, the changing seasons, traveling or moving to new places, the different stages of life or even the way we breathe - can affect our doshas in different ways and in this, our doshas can come out of balance.

Our wellness springs from equanimity between the 3 doshas and one of the best methods available to us for aiding in the balance of our doshas is the asana (poses), movement, and breath involved in Yoga.

We will look at each dosha specifically. To help balance Vata we will look at asana and sequences for building stability, foundation, grounding, stability. To help balance Pitta we will look to aid in purification, cleansing, clearing and calming. To help Kapha to remain in balance we will look to build energy, vitality, vigor, and stamina.
